Grazvydas Daunys – From fire and rescue to ScaffChamp

Not every road into scaffolding begins in scaffolding itself. Grazvydas Daunys came into the industry from a very different world.

From 2005 to 2010, he worked as a firefighter-rescuer at the Orlen Lietuva plant, where discipline, safety, and responsibility were part of daily life. That experience shaped the standards he still carries today. As he says, the biggest value he brought from that period was his attitude toward safety and responsibility, because that was where he learned how costly mistakes can be.

In 2010, he made the decision to leave a stable profession and step into the unknown by starting in scaffolding. The beginning was not easy, but over time, the industry became more than a new job. It became a path where he could grow, build, and take on greater responsibility. Working abroad with experienced specialists became an important turning point, helping shape his professionalism, calmness under pressure, and belief that true mastery is seen in work, not words.

Over the years, his road led through complex projects across Europe, from chemical plants to energy facilities, and later into leadership roles in Lithuania and abroad. ScaffChamp became another important part of that journey. First as a competitor, then as a medalist and MVP, and now as a judge, he has experienced the championship from several very different sides.

His story is about more than titles or results. It is about discipline, growth, and the long road behind real mastery.
